Reviews: Goodreads and blogs

Goodreads

My buddy Jason didn’t ask if he could add Benjamin Weatherby’s Practical Bestiary to Goodreads (find it here), but I’m glad he did anyway. I’m even more glad that he left a rave, 5-star review. Jason knows what he’s talking about, and he’s not one to exaggerate too much just because he knows me. Thanks, Jason!

Since we’re on the subject: If you’ve read the book, it’d be v. helpful if you could leave a review at Goodreads. If you loved it, please be honest; 4- and 5-star reviews would be great. If you didn’t quite love it (say, 3 stars or lower), it’s okay to fudge the numbers a bit. I’d love to be able to have a good handful of positive reviews when I start shopping around for publishers.

Blog Posts

In February, I was invited to join a local mother-son book club to meet the boys (and their moms) who read Benjamin Weatherby’s Practical Bestiary. What an awesome group of boys (and their moms)! We ate food inspired by the novel and enjoyed reenactments of the final battle scene (complete with props). Read more about the event and see some great pictures at their blog.

My colleague Derek Emerson also took the time to read the book and post a kind review on his personal blog. Do go read it!

As a reminder: I love hearing from readers. Even if you don’t want to write a blog post or a review on Goodreads, please email me and let me know what you thought. I’m still working on my final revision, and your feedback will be helpful!
